Private Pilot Ground School
The F.A.A. requires all private pilot candidates to pass a Private Pilot Ground School written examination that assesses knowledge. (F.A.A. regulation 61.105) This course reviews all the requirements and meets for eight weeks, a total of twenty class sessions. Sessions typically will start at 6:00 p.m. and end promptly at 9:00 p.m, during the week and are 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on a weekend day. (The class schedule is subjuct to change but will be published prior to the start of the class.) It is not a video or computer orientation course, but offers interaction between student and teacher, supported with the latest training aids and devices. The fee is $300 plus the Private Pilot training materials, all available at our Pilot Shop.
To become a Private pilot you must:
- Be 16 years old to solo.
- Be 17 years old to receive your pilot certificate.
- Read, speak, and understand English.
- Hold at least a third-class medical certificate

Instrument Rating Ground School
Attending the Instrument ground class is an effective way towards obtaining the Instrument rating. Our experienced instructors teach the required material so you are able to take and pass the FAA written knowledge test. Classes run for 14 weeks at a frequency of once per week, for three hours. Please contact your location for the specfic class schedule and availability options. The cost for all class sessions is $350. The curriculum includes:
